Meta’s smart glass launch sees glitches during product demose

The launch of Meta’s new smart glasses at Meta Connect was overshadowed by technical glitches during live demos. In one, the AI assistant failed to follow basic cooking instructions properly, skipping ahead in recipe steps and ignoring repeated questions—problems attributed to Wi-Fi issues. In another demo, a live video-call feature using the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses and a neural wristband didn’t register a call when it was supposed to, because the display had fallen asleep at the wrong moment. Meta’s leadership later acknowledged the failures, saying they were demo mishaps not reflective of the product’s capabilities.
