Tinder has introduced a new ‘Double Date’ feature, aimed at making dating more social by allowing friends to pair up and find matches together. Rolled out globally on June 17, the update lets users team up with one friend to swipe as a duo, making the dating experience more collaborative and less intimidating.
With this feature, both users must opt in and create a ‘Double Date’ group, enabling them to match with other duos. Once a match is made, all four users can chat in a shared group chat, fostering a more relaxed atmosphere.
Tinder says the feature addresses a growing trend among Gen Z users who prefer group interactions and want their friends involved in the dating process. The rollout is part of Tinder’s broader strategy to reshape online dating into a more dynamic, community-driven experience.
