HUL, Mamaearth to take down ads

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and Honasa Consumer, the parent company of Mamaearth, have agreed to temporarily remove their respective advertisements and social media posts amid an ongoing legal dispute over beauty product promotions. This interim decision was reached during proceedings in the Bombay High Court, following earlier statements made in the Delhi High Court.

HUL had filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Honasa Consumer and its director, seeking to halt the publication of certain posts it considered disparaging. In response, Honasa Consumer initiated legal action against HUL, claiming that HUL's advertisements were mimicking its own products.

Both companies agreed to take down their advertisements within 24 hours and remove hoardings within 48 hours. HUL has stated it will continue its campaign with modifications. The matter is scheduled for further hearing in the Delhi High Court on the upcoming Monday.
