When we talk about Bollywood nostalgia, the first name that comes to mind is Shah Rukh Khan. This week the internet was served a double shot of nostalgia and excitement courtesy of the Khan family. Aryan Khan’s much hyped first look from Bad**s of Bollywood dropped online, and soon after, old photos of Shah Rukh in his leather jacket glory days began resurfacing. The resemblance between father and son sparked a flood of comparisons that Bollywood fans live for.
From the angle of the jaw to the flick of the hair, fans could not help but marvel at how much Aryan mirrors his superstar father. Some even swore that his voice sounds almost identical to SRK’s, while others declared that the resemblance is so uncanny it feels like watching the King of Romance in his youth all over again. One fan even mused that Aryan is more Shah Rukh Khan than Shah Rukh Khan himself.
The reactions were predictably dramatic. Twitter timelines filled up with declarations like “Bro is born to headline rom coms like Main Hoon Na 2 or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 2.” Another fan lamented that it is Bollywood’s biggest loss that Aryan refuses to act, despite ticking every single box from screen presence to charm to perfect Hindi diction.
But Aryan has made his stand clear. While his father built an empire in front of the camera, Aryan is determined to carve his space behind it. His upcoming directorial debut Bad**s of Bollywood, backed by Gauri Khan, promises a new-age story that nods to legacy while moving forward with fresh vision.
The release date has not been revealed yet, but one thing is clear. Fans may have to accept that while Aryan carries SRK’s aura effortlessly, he is set to rule from the director’s chair rather than the silver screen.
