Stop everything and listen up—this news is piping hot and might just put a smile on your face if you're a Shah Rukh Khan fanatic. Yes, the Bollywood Badshah just bagged his crown at the National level, and the nation can finally breathe easy. Why? Because the award was long overdue—and he finally won it.
SRK took home his first-ever National Award for his electric performance in Jawan, directed by Atlee. This isn’t just a win—it’s a full-blown Bollywood justice moment. The film was a mega-hit, the fans were already screaming “Award season incoming,” and now? We’ve got the trophy to prove it.
Even Shashi Tharoor chimed in, and for once, the man didn’t pull out a dictionary. His tweet read, “A National Treasure wins a National Award! Congratulations.” Sweet. Simple. Regal.
But you know King Khan couldn’t let that pass without his signature wit. SRK replied,
“Thank u for the simple praise Mr Tharoor… Would not have understood something more magniloquent and sesquipedalian… ha ha.”
Translation: he is the moment, and still the wittiest guy in the room.
Then came the gratitude train. In a heartfelt video message, SRK greeted everyone with “Namaskar and Adab” and called the honour something he’ll “cherish for a lifetime.” He thanked the jury, the INB ministry, and made sure his fans felt every bit of the love he was sending. Because honestly? He knows who’s been riding with him all these years.
And the cherry on top? His cheeky line:
“I would love to spread my arms and share my love, but I’m a bit indisposed. Don’t worry, just keep the popcorn ready. I’ll be back.”
The man gave us a one-hand hug and still managed to make us swoon. Ugh, how does he do it?
He even posted a thank-you caption on socials with a “half a hug to everyone today.”
The National Film Awards this year were no less star-studded. SRK shared Best Actor with Vikrant Massey (12th Fail), Rani Mukerji took home Best Actress for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, and Kathal with Sanya Malhotra won Best Hindi Film. Director Sudipto Sen’s The Kerala Story also bagged the Best Director honour.
