CBSE advises schools to include positive affirmations in morning assembly

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recommended that schools incorporate positive affirmations into their morning assemblies to promote emotional well-being and a positive mindset among students.

In a recent advisory, CBSE emphasized the importance of starting the day on an optimistic note. The board suggested that schools can include brief affirmations that encourage self-confidence, mental strength, kindness, and resilience. These short, powerful statements are intended to boost students’ morale and help create a supportive and nurturing environment on campus.

According to the board, regularly hearing and repeating positive affirmations can influence students’ thought patterns, helping them approach their academic and personal challenges with a healthier outlook. Schools are encouraged to tailor the affirmations to suit various age groups, ensuring that the messages are relatable and meaningful to all students.

CBSE has also urged school authorities and educators to be mindful of students' emotional needs and to integrate such practices as part of broader mental health and well-being initiatives within schools.

This initiative is part of CBSE’s ongoing efforts to create a more balanced and supportive education system, where mental and emotional development is given importance alongside academic growth.
