To become a developed nation, we must implement NEP, says Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has emphasized that fully implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) is essential for India to achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Speaking at a recent event, Pradhan highlighted how the NEP 2020 provides a transformative framework aimed at preparing students for the future. He pointed out that the policy is not just about academic reform but also about nurturing global citizens who are rooted in Indian values.

Pradhan reiterated that the NEP promotes multilingualism, skill development, and critical thinking elements that are crucial for a knowledge-based economy. He also underlined the importance of digital learning and vocational training, particularly in higher education and school curricula.

The minister noted that many institutions across the country have already begun aligning their programs with the goals of the NEP. He called upon educators, policy-makers, and stakeholders to collaborate and ensure that the policy is implemented in both letter and spirit.

According to him, empowering youth through quality education will not only drive innovation and entrepreneurship but will also play a central role in realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by its centenary of independence.
